RC Hub

Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

RC Hub is an app for keeping track of your radio-controlled models — your garage, your build and maintenance journal, your parts and batteries, and a shared map of places to run and events to attend. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and who can see it.

RC Hub contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking. Nothing you do in the app is measured, profiled or sold. There is no advertising identifier, no attribution SDK and no behavioural tracking of any kind.

1. Using RC Hub without an account

You can use RC Hub as a guest. In guest mode, everything you create — machines, photos, journal entries, parts — is written only to your own device. No account is created, nothing is uploaded, and we hold no data about you at all.

If you later create an account, the app offers to move that local data into it. Until that transfer completes successfully, the local copy is left untouched.

2. What we store when you have an account

WhatWhy
Your email address and a user identifier, received from Apple or Google when you sign in. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email, and we then receive a relay address from Apple insteadTo create your account and let you sign back in
Profile: username, display name, bio, profile pictureTo identify you in the app and to other members. Your profile picture is currently shown only to you
Optional contact details and links you choose to add: email, phone, messaging handles (Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, Discord), and links to your social and hobby profilesSo other members can reach you — only the members your visibility settings allow, and nobody by default
Your garage: machine names, categories, status, specifications, notes, usage counts and photosThis is the content of the app — it is what you came to keep. Who else can see it depends on the garage visibility setting you choose — see "What other members can see"
Your journal: entries, dates, notes and photosSame. Private by default; you can mark an individual entry public
Your inventory: parts, batteries, quantities, prices paid, purchase datesSame
Spots and events you create: name, description, coordinates, photosThese are shared with other members by design
Events you mark yourself as attendingTo show the organiser who is coming, and everyone else how many are
Members you block and reports you submitTo keep blocked members out of what you see, and to act on reports

3. Location

Your device's location

If you allow it, the map shows where you are so you can find nearby spots and events. This happens entirely on your device. Your live location is never sent to our servers and never shared with anyone. You can refuse the permission and still use the map, and you can withdraw it at any time in the system Settings app.

Your home city

Separately, you may set a home city in your profile. This is stored on our servers, and it is shown to other members only if you turn on "Show me on the map", which is off by default.

When it is shown to others, the coordinates are deliberately rounded to roughly one kilometre before they leave the server, so other members see the area you are in, not where you live. Turning the setting off removes your pin from everyone else's map.

Spots and events

Spots and events you create are public to all RC Hub users by design, including their exact coordinates — that is the point of putting a place on a shared map. Do not create a spot at your home address unless you intend that address to be public.

4. Photos and the camera

RC Hub asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photo. Photos you pick from your library are handed to the app one at a time by the system picker — the app has no access to the rest of your library.

Every photo is resized and re-encoded on your device before it is stored or uploaded. Your inventory's photos are always private. Photos on your garage and journal entries follow the same visibility you chose for that machine or entry — see "What other members can see" below. Photos attached to spots and events are visible to other members, because those places are shared.

5. What other members can see

Always visible: your username, display name and bio; spots and events you created; and your approximate home area, but only if you turned that setting on. Your profile picture is stored privately and is not shown to other members.

Visible to an event's organiser: that you are going. Other members see only how many are.

Never visible to anyone else, under any setting: your inventory — parts, batteries, quantities and what you paid.

Your contact details and links

You choose who can see them, in Profile → Privacy, separately for direct contacts and for links: All members (anyone signed in), People you follow (only the members you follow), or Only me (the default — they stay a note to yourself). Change it at any time; it takes effect immediately.

Your garage

You choose who can see your machines, in Profile → Privacy → Garage: Everyone (the default — anyone can see it, signed in or not, the same level as a spot or event), People you follow (only the members you follow), or Only me. Change it at any time; it takes effect immediately.

Your journal

Each journal entry is private by default — visible only to you, the same as before this feature existed. When writing or editing one, you can mark it public instead: a public entry is then visible to anyone, the same reach as a garage set to Everyone. A private entry, and the fact that it exists, is never shown to anyone but you.

Following

Following another member notifies you when they add a vehicle you can see or make a journal entry public.

Following is also how you choose your People you follow audience: a member you follow can see whatever you've set to People you follow, and unfollowing them takes that away. Anyone can follow you, but being followed gives them nothing you've limited this way — it's your follows that decide, not theirs.

6. Who else processes your data

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers above.

7. Keeping and deleting your data

Your content is kept for as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account from inside the app — Profile, then Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile, garage, journal, inventory, photos, events and attendance records, from our servers and from the device you delete it on. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also ends RC Hub's access to your Apple ID.

Spots and races you added to the shared map are the exception: other members rely on them, so the place itself — its name, location and description — stays on the map after your account is deleted, no longer linked to you. The photos you attached to them are deleted with your account. To take a spot off the map as well, delete it in the app before deleting your account.

Deleting the app alone does not delete your account; use the in-app option.

8. Your rights

You can access and correct most of your data directly in the app. For a copy of your data, or for any request about it, write to 2324mb@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, or to complain to a data protection authority.

9. Children

RC Hub is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the app will point you at the new version. Continuing to use RC Hub after a change means you accept it.

11. Contact

RC Hub is operated by Maksym Bator. For anything in this policy: 2324mb@gmail.com.
